Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park and India Package Tours
The former hunting ground of the erstwhile maharajahs of Jaipur, the Ranthambore National Park or the National Park in Ranthambore is situated in the eastern part of Rajasthan at the confluence of Aravalli Hill Ranges and the Vindhya Plateau. The park is dispersed with man made lakes and natural streams which provide an excellent habitat for the many aquatic species of the region. The park is adorned with a large variety of flora including banyan, dhok, pipal and mango trees. The terrain is uneven and dotted with massive rock formations, National Park in Ranthambore , lakes and large open areas. The trees are the dry deciduous type with the dhok tree being found in large numbers. The best time to visit the park is from October to June.
Wildlife Attractions
The Ranthambore Park is famous for
its large population of tigers. The different varieties of flora and fauna found
here includes 300 tree species, 50 aquatic plant species, 272 bird species, 12
reptiles and 30 species of mammals. Besides being one of the best places to spot
the wild beast in its natural habitat, other animals that can be found here
include sambar, chital, nilgai, gazzelle, boars, mongoose, Indian hare and
Monitor lizards.

Ranthambore Fort : The park got its name from the majestic National Park in Ranthambore Fort,
which is situated inside the boundaries of the park. The ancient fort dates back
to the 10th century, around which period it was used to control this central
part of India.
» Jogi Mahal :
The forest rest house, Jogi
Mahal, is situated in the vicinity of the national park near its entry point. A
major attraction of the place is the old Banyan tree, which is the second
largest of its kind in the country.

are recommended for winters.
· Separate charges are to be paid for
vehicles, guides and photography equipment.
· Check the park timings which
change according to season and generally are from 6 AM to 9
PM.
