at a distance of about 67 km from Ooty, the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary is a

fauna which include many endangered species of animals such as Bengal tigers,
leopards, elephants, giant squirrels, sambhar, chital, barking deer and flying
squirrels. The avian population found in the park includes colorful parakeets,

Waterfalls are situated on the Kalhatty slopes, about 13 km from the city. The
100-feet-high falls and the picturesque area surrounding it are a sight to
behold. The Kalhatty-Masinagudi slopes are home to some wild animals including
panther, sambhar, bison and wild buffalo.
» Avalanche :
Avalanche, unlike its name, is a serene place situated at a distance of
about 28 km from Ooty. A nature lover's paradise, it is an ideal place for bird
watching and absorbing the fresh air of the hills. The lake here acts as a
fishing spot, though prior permission has to be obtained.
