Devikulam

Hill Stations Kerala, Close to Munnar (around 16 km), Devikulam is an irresistible hill station offering brilliant green slopes, tall red and blue gum trees and a wide variety of wildlife in its sanctuary. The Sita Devi Lake and the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary are the prime attractions here. The former is a wonderful picnic spot where angling is allowed if you obtain a permit. The latter with its sandalwood forest is home to endangered Grizzled Giant Squirrel apart from Star Tortoise and Gaur.

Ponmudi

Hill Stations Kerala, Located at a distance of 61 km north east of Thiruvanantpuram and at a height of 3002 feet above sea level, Ponmudi literally translates into the Golden Crown. As per its name, Ponmudi is a jewel which dazzles your visual senses to the maximum.

True, there is not much in Ponmudi that can be categorized for a typical sightseeing, yet nature's graceful endowment makes a visit to this hill station of Kerala tremendously fulfilling experience. And then, there is a bit of opportunity to get adventurous as well. There is the Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary, Lion Safari Park and Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary for the lovers of animals and birds. Also, the Meenmutti Waterfalls presents a good landscape for a bit of trekking.

Attapaddy

Hill Stations of Kerala South India, This beautiful hill station is situated in the Palakkad district of Kerala and sprawls over an area of 827 sq km. Visit Attapady to appreciate its remarkable blend of mountain, rivers and forest. The tribal settlement found here are 'irolas' and 'mudugars'. They are devout worshippers of Lord Shiva as such the huge Shivalinga here commands immense respect from the people. A major attraction here is the Silent Valley National Park.

Nelliyampathy

Hill Stations of Kerala South India, Nelliyampathy is situated at a distance of 52 km from Palakkad and is a range of hills interspersed by dense lush green woods and orange plantations. The height of this hill station ranges from 467 to 1572 m above sea level. Reaching there is itself an exhilarating experience as nearly 10 hairpin curves have to be crossed on the ghat roads. Major attraction here include the Seethakundu Waterfall. Trekking forms an interesting option in Nelliyampathy.

Malampuzha

Major attraction here include the Rock Garden. The garden, designed by renowned sculpture, Padmasree Nek Chand Saini, is unique in the sense that it is made up of waste materials like discarded and broken pieces of bangles, tiles, used plastic cans and tins. Other attractions include a Snake Park and a sculpture of Yakshi by Kanai Kunjiraman. A ride on the ropeway to see the park provides an exhilarating experience. Boat cruises form an interesting way to explore Malampuzha.

Dhoni

Hill Stations Kerala, This reserve forest is a delight for trekkers as reaching Dhoni entails an arduous climb of 3 hours from the base of Dhoni Hills. Apart from its verdant greenery that seems ready to enchant you, there is also a small waterfall to provide a feast for your eyes. A farmhouse with its cattle inhabitants is also worth a visit here.

Wagamon

Hill Stations of Kerala South India, At a height of 1100 m, Wagamon is a chain of three hills (Thangal Hill, Murugan Hill and Kurisumala, ) that is just perfect if you wish to enjoy more adventure activities. Options include trekking, paragliding, mountaineering, rock climbing and walking.

Wagamon's other attraction include a peculiar rock formations at Thangal Para, a dairy farm in Kurisumala and a Live Stock Board. Wagamon is located at a convenient distance of 64 km Kottayam and 65 km from Idukki town. Green Tea Gardens are also an added attraction of the place.
